adaption from the book: 1.All grownups were once children. 2.Grownups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them. 3.I was more isolated than a shipwrecked a silor on a raft in the middle of the ocean. 4.Grownups love figures. When you tell them that you have made a new friend, they never ask you any questions about essential matters. They never say to you, “”what does his voice sound like? What games does he love best? Does he collect butterflies? 5.Children should always show great forbearance toward grown-up people. 6.“Sometimes, there is no harm in putting off a piece of work until another day. But when it is a matter of baobabs, that always means a catastrophy.” 7.“You know—one loves the sunset, when one is so sad….” “Were you sad, then? ” “on the day of the forty-four sunsets?” 8.“A sheep—if it eats little bushes, does it eat flowers, too? ” “A sheep, eats anything it finds in its reach.” “Even flowers that have thorns?” “Yes, even flowers that have thorns.” “Then the thorns—what use are they?” 9.“You talk just like grownups! You mix everything up together….you confuse everything…” 10. “If you succeed in judging yourself rightly, then you are indeed a man of true wisdom.” 11. Conceited people never hear anything but praise. 12. “I admire you, but what is there in that to interest you so much?” 13. “We write of eternal things.” 14. “éphemeral means ‘which is in danger of speedy disappearance.” 15. “When one wishes to play the wit, he sometimes wanders a little from the truth.” 16. I wonder weather the stars are set alight in heaven so that one day each one of us may find his own again….Look at my planet. It is right there above us. But how far away it is! 17. “It is a little lonely in the desert….” “It is also lonely among men.” 18. “The people have no imagination. They repeat whatever one says to them…..On my planet I had a flower; she always was the first to speak.” 19. “Tame is an act too neglected. It means to establish ties.” 20. To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world.” 21. “One only understands the things that one tames. Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy things all ready made at the shops. But there is no shop anywhere where one can buy friendship, and so men have no friends any more. If you want a friend, tame me… ” 22. “It would have been better to come back at the same hour. If, for example, you come at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, then at 3 o’clock I shall begin to be happy. I shall feel happier and happier as the hour advances. At 4 o’clock, I shall already be worrying and jumping about. I shall show you how happy I am! But if you come at just any time, I shall never know at what hour my heart is to be ready to greet you….One must observe the proper rites.” 23.“Words are the source of misunderstandings.” 24. “You are beautiful, but you are empty. One could not die for you.” 25. “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” 26. “Men have forgotten this truth. But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. ” 27. “No one is ever satisfied where it is.” 28. “Only the children know what they are looking for, they waste their time over a rag doll and it becomes very important to them.” 29. “With these pills, you save 53 minutes in every week. “If I have 53 minutes to spend as I liked, I should walk at my leisure toward a spring of fresh water.” 30. “What makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.” 31. “Yet what they are looking for could be found in one single rose, or in a litter water.” 32. I remembered the fox. One runs the risk of weeping a little, if one lets himself be tamed. 33. “The thing that is important is the thing that is not seen.” 34. “My star will be just one of the stars, for you. And so you will love to watch all the stars in heavens” 35. “And when your sorrow is comforted (time sooths all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me.”
